If you have thought about creating and publishing online art

classes or already have online art classes but they’re not selling as well as you’d like, you are going to want to read this post.

Artist entrepreneurs everywhere are rethinking their businesses and looking for ways to create additional income.  Many are sharing their passion and their skills through online art classes which is a GREAT way to create residual income.

But how do you compete when everyone seems to be doing it?

Sometimes it’s easier to start with what you DON’T want to do.  Here are a few mistakes artists make when creating online art classes and how you can avoid them.

#1  Don’t…think about a technique you love to do, assume everyone else will love it then create it and hope for the best.  Do your research first.  Ask your people through email and social media—would you be interested in this class?  Dig deep and do some data mining (searching for information that helps determine the need or desire for what you have to offer).

#2  Don’t…think you can do everything yourself.  There’s a lot that has to happen when you are marketing yourself and your art classes online and if you’re not tech savvy, you’ll want some help along the way.  Consider using my FREE Assessment Package to help you gain clarity.

#3  Don’t…underestimate the value of your work!  This is a biggie.  Too many artists don’t factor in all the time, money, materials, effort and marketing expenses that go into building their business online.  Reach out for help to problem solve any struggles you have with pricing.

#4  Don’t…go it alone.  Connect with other artists to share ideas and gain feedback and support.

#5  Don’t…think that because you’re not tech savvy that you can’t do it!  I’ve helped dozens of artists overcome their fear of technology to grow their art based business online.

At Zenso Creative, I offer a training program four times a year for artists who want to build their art business online, and create residual income.

Starting with my Content Creation Training For Online Art Classes is a great place to kickstart your art business online, and is available for Pre-Registration at a discounted price from now until March 31, 2021.  Registration ends April 15, 2021.

Here’s a conversation I had with friend and fellow artist Ellie McIntosh of EllieMacDesigns on Instagram live.  Not only did we work together to launch her online art school but we worked at revamping her entire website, and simplifying her marketing strategies to help her gain more traction.
